‘Imbued with freshness and clarity, the 1904 flute sonata (published by Fortin, 1999, in Paris) is an instrumental masterpiece of the genre. More original and surprising, the violin sonata of 1922 is less easy to grasp, but it captivates with its oriental atmosphere, its highly contrasting sequence and its extremely virtuoso writing. Powerful and romantic, the cello sonata (Editions Armiane, 2000, in Versailles) brings out the lyricism of the instrument. There's no doubt that instrumentalists will find something here to enrich their repertoire. The interpretation is perfect and a pleasure to behold. Clearly, the programme has been well thought through, matured by excellent performers who work well together. The care taken with the sound recording is noteworthy; all of which contribute to making this disc a real musical event, in short: a real novelty.’
