"Splendors of the Brass"
This collection gathers works of all times and all styles. Some of these works have a more original character than others which are adaptations of famous works for orchestra or piano.
The aim is to build up a repertoire for the brass quartet which, of course, will never equal the immense repertoire of the string quartet, for technical and historical reasons, but which will allow musicians practicing the trumpet, the horn and the trombone to perform in concert by presenting to the public attractive programs associating little known works with very popular ones.
All the works of the collection have been played, always with great success, in public by the "Ensemble de Cuivres de Paris", and most of them have been performed by the "Ensemble de Cuivres de Paris". and most of them can be used as a support for the work of students of chamber music-copper in the Schools of Music. The horn part can be replaced by a second trombone part.
Jean-Louis Petit.
