The Dancing Girl - ballet
Reference EAL 462
Philippe Sagnier : composer, former harpsichordist of the Ballet of Marais 44 p (+52)
We chose to leave the argument that served as the basis for the composition of this ballet on the score. However, it was out of the question to recite the poem during the performance of the ballet. This would be duplicating the work and would make the whole thing heavier, so we had to let the dance express itself.
A CD also exists. It is constituted in this way and facilitates the work of the directors and teachers of dance. The choreographic indications (in brackets) are suggested by the composer and can be adapted or modified.
In its original conception, this ballet includes: a female soloist, four or six female subjects from the corps de ballet, and an adult male subject.
This piece, in which one can distinguish a touch of romanticism in its second half of the 20th century style, will bring a new color to the dance repertoire.
