The piece for solo viola CIRCUM was written in 2000.
It is built around the letters B.A.C.H. The architecture is in classical form with three parts ABA' followed by a coda.
The extreme parts use this motive "celebrated" by many composers and treated with vivacity in tremolos alternately scintillating pp and ff . The central part, very slow, begins hesitantly and develops expressively, quoting the theme very fleetingly.
