A new piano method? Yes but ORIGINAL
It is an original method in two volumes
The first volume (blue) is aimed at beginners and starting over from 1st to 4th grade. It includes ten lessons.
The second volume (orange) accompanies the pianist from his 5th year. It includes six lessons.
Original method by its approach:
· It is the simultaneous study of the piano, practical harmony, reading sheet music of all styles and improvisation.
· Each lesson is based on an easy-to-remember song. Song taken from popular repertoire, operetta or current song. You learn to play this song and sing it along with yourself
· The song, learned by heart, allows you to study phrasing, breathing, touch (in order to convey your character). Rhythm tricks are easy to perform and the student can refer to when playing another piece.
· The next step is to look at what comes with the song: chords and / or additional vocals. We then approach the notions of harmony and polyphony.
Original method by its content :
We find there :
· Sequences and cadences, to be transposed to develop the ear and harmonic awareness
· Tracks for improvisation
· Exercises that allow you to acquire a thoughtful technique. You learn the different kinds of touch, phrasing, chords, independence of the hands, polyphony, the proper use of the pedal
· A particularly vast repertoire, ranging from Bach to Adèle, from Couperin to Indochine, including musicals and symphonic music in original arrangements.
Original method by its use:
With each song is associated a complete technical and musical knowledge. A beginner starts with the beginning of the method, but a more advanced student can choose the lesson according to the concepts he wants to deepen.
The student can also, before tackling a new piece, become familiar with its key through exercises, harmonic learning, transpositions or improvisations.
It is a concentrate of method that must be completed by choosing pieces related to the topics covered. The teacher can keep his favorite method while continuing the progression of "learning the piano by songs".
A step by step progression, respecting the tastes and level of the students.
Whatever your age and the type of lesson you take (private lesson, association, conservatory), this way of learning will change the way you hear and learn music.
