EAN Code 8/13 or UPC code : BVL 16
"Creating links, giving meaning" is the program of the choral singing school of the Saint Vincent-Providence school in Rennes, Brittany. Children and young people can grow up practicing singing every day throughout their schooling thanks to the adapted timetable. All repertoires are covered, from Gregorian chant to contemporary songs.
It is within this framework that Jean-René André, a member of the teaching team and composer in residence, proposes "tailor-made" creations to the young apprentice musicians.
His main sources of inspiration are Brittany on the one hand, and liturgy and sacred music on the other, as in the case of the Magnificat, premiered in April 2013.Trained as an organist, Jean-René André has studied with Susan Landale and Daniel Roth. A teacher and concert performer, he is the titular organist of the Cathedral of Rennes.
Jean-René André is titular organist and coordinator of music at Rennes Cathedral. Within the framework of the Centre d'Art Choral de Rennes, he acts as accompanist and organ teacher. The liturgy and sacred texts as well as his native Brittany (in particular thanks to a fruitful collaboration with Jean-Pierre Boulic) are the main sources of inspiration for his composing activity.
