Elizabeth ANSCUTTER
QUATUOR N°1
Elizabeth ANSCUTTER entered the Lille Conservatory as a child thanks to her school teacher. Her teacher, seeing her start a delirious improvisation of "Ah dirais-je maman!" on an upside down recorder as a microphone, advised her parents to make her study music.
Her studies of harpsichord, musical writing (harmony and counterpoint) and composition led her to Laurent Petitgirard's film music composition class at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique de Paris.
After graduating, Elizabeth went on to perfect her film composition skills with Gabriel Yared.
Today, she gives film music conferences "On vous embobine l'oreille!", professional training courses "Music & Cinema" for the CNFPT, Images en Bibliothèques and at the EICAR film school, sound effects workshops "le fabuleux monde du son", composes for the Dalya Quartet and various images while being Deputy General Secretary for pedagogy of the Union of Film Music Composers and Sacem Commissioner for contemporary classical music.
Quartet No. 1: "Composed in 2015, I did not want to give a title to this string quartet. I wanted the listener to let his imagination take over without being influenced by a word. In retrospect, however, it does seem to me that I wrote there three important stages of my life's journey."
