This piece was written for the "VioloncellenSeine" 2016 competition for the end of Cycle 1 (Preparatory 3).
It features the young student introducing himself or herself with his or her first name and saying a few words before playing the piece.
I felt it was important to have the student speak in front of the jury and then perform a playful and lyrical piece.
The themes, presented in a way that is appropriate for the level of the students, are based on those of L'Envol. This opus 30 is also presented in the 2016 graduate competition. It is part of a series that includes the Double Concert for viola, cello and orchestra opus 28.
These are pieces with oriental and warm colors, nostalgic and rhythmic.
