After obtaining the Superior Diploma of Composition from the Norm School of Music in Paris in 2004, Jean-Marie Lemarchand quickly turned to writing for orchestra, writing soundtracks for short films as well as a concerto for guitar and orchestra.
Graduated in guitar from the conservatory of Rennes, he also writes a lot for this instrument, in particular for the quartet AMANECER or the concert performer Mauricio Diaz Alvarez. His piece "Catalane" earned him a place in the finals of the Boulogne Billancourt young composers competition in 2007.
